Virtue of Tawheed and a Warning Against What Contradicts it By Darussalam

Virtue of Tawheed and a Warning Against What Contradicts It by Darussalam is a crucial Islamic work that highlights the significance of Tawheed (the oneness of Allah) as the most fundamental concept in Islam. This treatise underscores the unparalleled importance of recognizing and affirming Allah's oneness, providing a deep spiritual and theological understanding of Tawheed’s role in a Muslim's faith and practice.

The book also offers a clear warning against beliefs, actions, and practices that contradict or undermine Tawheed, such as polytheism (Shirk) and innovations (Bid’ah). Drawing from authentic Islamic sources including the Qur’an and Hadith, this work serves as both a reminder of the centrality of Tawheed in Islamic worship and a guide to avoiding deviations that could lead to spiritual harm.

Ideal for Muslims seeking to strengthen their understanding of Tawheed and safeguard their faith, this book provides essential insights on how to adhere to the pure monotheistic principles of Islam while steering clear of practices that oppose them

Defining At-Tawheed
The word At-Tawheed linguistically is derived from the Arabic verb Wahhada, which means to unite something or make something one. Thus, the word At-Tawheed is a verbal noun (i.e. a noun derived from a verb) that means unification. However, religiously, the concept of At- Tawheed means to believe in One True God, alone, and direct all aspects of worship and devotion to Him (Allah), alone. At-Tatoheed is often translated as Islaamic Monotheism. At-Tawheed has three aspects:
(A) Uniqueness of the Lordship of Allaah; Tawheed ur- Ruboobiyyah: To believe that there is only one Lord for all the universe and He is its Creator, Organizer, Planner, Sustainer, Owner and the Controller of its Affairs, and that is Allaah.
(B) Uniqueness of the worship of Allaah; Tawheed ul- Uloohiyyah: To believe that none has the right to be worshipped (e.g. praying, invoking, asking for help from the unseen, swearing, slaughtering sacrifices, giving charity, fasting, pilgrimage, etc.) but Allaah. (C) Uniqueness of the Names and Attributes of Allaah: Tawheed ul-Asmaa' was-Sifaat. To believe that:
(1) We must not name or attribute to Allaah except what He or His Messenger has named Him or attributed to Him. utions [le modw
(ii) None can be named with the Names of Allaah or described with attributes that belong to Allaah; e.g. Al-Kareem, Ar-Rahmaan, etc.;

(iii) We must believe in all the Attributes of Allaah that elizaren mentioned in His Book (the Qur'aan) or Ils mentioned by His Messenger (Muhammad) mowithout changing their meaning or denying them si (completely or twisting their meanings or likening So them (giving resemblance) to any of the created things Sari iniris Examples are that Allaah is present over His Throne as mentioned in the Qur'aan, Surah Ta-Ha (20), verse 5: "The Most Gracious (Allaah) rose (Istawaa) over the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty)."
He is over the seventh heaven and He comes down over the first (nearest) heaven during the last third part of every night and also on the Day of 'Arafah (i.e. the 9th of Thul-Hijjah), as mentioned by the Prophet in authentic hadeeths. Yet, He is with us by His Knowledge, not by His Personal-Self (Bi-Thaatik).
Allaah also says:
"There is nothing like Him and He is the All-Hearing the All-Seeing." [Ash-Shooraa (42):11]
This noble verse proves the attributes of hearing and sight for Allaah without likening it (or giving resemblance) to any of the created things. He also says, "To one (Adam) whom I have created with My Two Hands." [Saad (38):75) arm of a barmaduM O) yea and He also says:
"The Hand of Allaah is over their hands." [Al-Fath

7. From that which causes deficiencies in Tawheed is exaggeration concerning the righteous people (Awliyaa') and the pious (Saaliheen), and elevating them above their appropriate status. This exaggeration takes the form of magnifying them, elevating their status to the status of the Messengers, or thinking that they were infallible.

5 This hadeeth was recorded in Sunan At-Tirmithee and Musnad Ahmad. Shu'aib Al-Ama'oot graded it authentic (Saheeh) in his checking of Riyaadh us-Saaliheen, no. 62, and Al-Albaanee graded it authentic (Sahech) in Sahech Sunan At-Tirmithee, Vol. 2, no. 2043. A.W.
8. From that which negates Tawheed is making circuits (Tawaaf) around graves. This is a type of Shirk. It is also not permissible to pray (As- Salaah) at grave sites because it is a means of Shirk. So how about praying to the graves and worshipping them?! May Allaah protect us from this.
9. In order to preserve Tawheed, building structures over graves, placing domes and Masjids over gothem, and singling them out as special places Br(i.e. shrines) has been forbidden.
10. From that which negates Tawheed is magic, going to magicians (for help), soothsayers, fortunetellers, horoscope predictors and their likes. People who practice magic are disbelievers and it is not permissible to go to them, ask them, or believe in them, even if they are called Awliyaa' (saints), Shaikhs (religious Bremen), and other similar titles.
