يَتأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظِيمٌ ) تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّا أَرْضَعَتْ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ وَتَرَى النَّاسَ سُكَرَىٰ وَمَا هُم بِسُكَرَى وَلَكِنَّ عَذَابَ اللَّهِ شَـ
akind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of al] Hour is a terrible thing. On the Day you see y nursing mother will be distracted from what nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort gnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] cated while they are not intoxicated; but the ishment of Allah is severe." [Qur'an 22:1-2]
The Terrifying Events of the Day of Resurrection
"The intelligent one is he who subdues his self and works for what is after death, and the incapable one is he who follows his desires and then hopes from Allah."
The Righteous Predecessors used to frequently remind themselves and others of the horrors of the Day of Judgment, for in remembering it lies purification of the heart, humility before Allah - the Most High - and encouragement towards righteous deeds.
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رضي الله عنهما، قَالَ: أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمَنْكِبِي، فَقَالَ: «كُنْ فِي الدُّنْيَا كَأَنَّكَ غَرِيبٌ أَوْ عَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ».
وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ: «إِذَا أَمْسَيْتَ فَلاَ تَنْتَظِرِ الصَّبَاحَ، وَإِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ فَلاَ
تَنتَظِرِ المَسَاءَ، وَخُذْ مِنْ صِحْتِكَ لِمَرَضِكَ، وَمِنْ حَيَاتِكَ لِمَوْتِكَ».
'Abdullah Ibn 'Umar - may Allah be pleased with both of them - said: "The Messenger of Allah () took hold of my

Ibn Isma'il narrated to us, saying: Sufy arrated to us, from Aslam Ibn 'Abd Al- scholars, regarding:

He said: "Repentance."
117 - Fuḍayl narrated to us, saying: Sallam Abu Al-Aḥwas narrated to us, from Simāk, from 'Ikrimah, regarding:
يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن سَاقٍ
"The Day when the shin will be uncovered" [Qur'an 68:42].
He said: "The severity of the Day of Resurrection."
118-Yusuf Ibn Mūsā narrated to us, saying: Waki' narrated to us, saying: Usamah Ibn Zayd narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas - may Allah be pleased with both of them who said (regarding the verse mentioned
previously):
"About severity. Have you not heard the poet's saying:
وَحِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَشْتَهُونَ﴾
