ايقال فَسَيَكفِيكَهُمُ الله وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ Allah will suffice you against

وصِبْعَهُ اللَّهِ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ صِبْغَةٌ Hold to the imprint of Allahl .138
وَغَيْن له عبدُونَ )
For who can impart a better im- print than Allah? And, "We are worshippers of Him."
قل الفالجوننا في اللهِ وَهُوَ رَبُّنَا Sar Do you dobare o about .139
وَرَبُّكُمْ وَأَمَّا أَعْتَلْنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْتَلُكُمْ ولدن له اللصُونَ )
Allah, while He is our Loed and
your Lord, and we have our deeds, and you have your deeds, while we are the ones sincere to Him?"
وأم تقولون إن البرهيم وإستحميل Or other, do you daim that .140
واسْخَلقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْأَسْبَاطِ كَانُوا هُونًا
Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Ja
cob, and the Tribes were Jews or Christians? Say, "Are you more
أَوْ تَفْرَقُ قُلْ أَنتُمْ أَعْلَمُ أَمَ اللَّةً وَمَنْ knowledgeable, or is Allah? And أظلم من كتم شهَدَ؛ عنده من الله who is more unjust than one who
وَمَا أَللَّهُ يَعْقِل عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ )
conceals testimony he has from
Allah? And Allah is not unaware
of what you do.

الخبرة الأولى
إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَسْمَقَالَ نَكُمُ الَّذِينَ فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إلا وأنتم مسيئون )
وبلك أنه قد خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ Those were a community who .141

"The Arabic word for "imprint" is pighab, which literally means dye or colouring and the Qur'an uses it here as a metaphor for the transformative identity given by Al- lah through true faith, submission, and adherence to His guidance. Classical exegetes explain that Jews and Christians used ritual washings or baptisms as outward marks of religious identity. By calling blam "the pibghah of Allah," the Qur'an declares that the true, divinely given mark is not a physical ritual, but the spiritual and moral transfor macion produced by faith in Allah and His revelation, which is a lasting imprint upon the believer's nature (compare to 2:136 and 30:30).
This is a continuation of the command of, "Say," in 2:136.
"Reflection: Your parents' faith, your community's status, your ancestors' deeds one will save you. On the Day of Judgment, it's only what you did that counts.
