1. Reported by Ahmad in his Musnad (3784),
Ya, bn Hibban in his Sahih and al-Hakim, classified by a Alban as sound
Al-Baihaqi has noted that limiting the names up to ninety-nine doesn't dismiss however, the existence of names exceeding the number. They have occurred in this number, he argued, specifically because of their greater familiarity and the clarity of their meanings. Also this number has been referred to in a narration as to that whoever takes account of them all will enter into the Paradise.
THEN WHAT IS MEANT BY THE NINETY-NINE NAMES?
It is meant by them, as the majority of the scholars said, to inform of entering into the Paradise by taking account of Allah's 99 names.
THE MEANING OF 'TAKING ACCOUNT OF THEM'
o Memorization: taking account of their words and number; one counts them till one memorizes them. thoroughly as said by al-Bukhari and al-Nawawi. They strengthened it with another narration reported by Muslim: 'Whoever memorizes them will enter into the Paradise."
o Understanding:
understanding their meaning and taking care of them well and properly.
o Supplication: making supplications for praising, worshipping, asking and requesting Him.
