Description of Book

The Life Teachings & Influence Of Muhammad Ibn Abdul-Wahhaab

The Life, Teachings & Influence of Muhammad Ibn Abdul-Wahhaab explores the life and legacy of one of the most influential Islamic reformers of the 18th century. Born in Najd, in the Arabian Peninsula, Muhammad Ibn Abdul-Wahhaab devoted his life to calling Muslims back to the pure monotheism (tawheed) taught by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Disturbed by widespread practices of shirk (associating partners with Allah), innovations in religion, and moral decline, he sought to revive the original teachings of Islam by emphasizing strict adherence to the Qur’an and authentic Hadith, while rejecting superstitious and culturally inherited practices that lacked basis in Islamic sources.

This work not only traces his personal life, scholarly journey, and key writings but also examines the broader impact of his movement, known today as the Wahhabi or Salafi movement. His alliance with political leaders, particularly Muhammad Ibn Saud, laid the foundation for what would eventually become the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The book discusses how his teachings influenced Islamic thought, education, and law in the region and beyond. With a focus on clarity and context, this biography presents both the reformer's motivations and the controversies surrounding his mission, offering readers a balanced understanding of his role in Islamic history
