Description of Book

The Book of Major Sins by Imam at Tamimi | Repentance of sins

The Book of Major Sins by Imam Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen at-Tamimi is a powerful and sobering exploration of the gravest offenses in Islam, compiled to awaken the believer’s conscience and guide them toward sincere repentance. Drawing from the Qur’an and authentic Hadith, this book identifies and explains the major sins that can severely impact a person’s faith and Hereafter if not repented for. From acts like shirk (associating partners with Allah), murder, and theft to less visible but equally dangerous sins such as arrogance, backbiting, and neglect of prayer, the book presents each sin with its textual evidence and a discussion of its consequences.

What makes this work particularly impactful is its emphasis on Allah’s mercy and the door of repentance remaining open for those who sincerely turn back. Imam at-Tamimi does not merely list sins, but encourages readers to reflect on their actions, seek forgiveness, and reform their character. This book is not only a reminder of what to avoid, but also a motivation to live a life rooted in awareness, humility, and accountability. It is an essential resource for Muslims who wish to purify their hearts and walk the path of righteousness, guided by knowledge and the hope of divine mercy
