Page :04 قُل لَّا أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ وَلَوْ كُنتُ أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ لَاسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِيَ السُّوءِ إِنْ أنا إلَّا نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ الله (Say: "For myself I have no power to benefit, nor power to hurt, save that which Allah will. Had I knowledge of the Ghaib (Unseen), I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings unto folk who believe.") (7: 188) Allah ordered His Messenger to ascribe all matters to Him, and to tell everybody that he had no knowledge of the Ghaib, except that which Allah had informed him about, as Allah says, ((Allah, Alone is) the All-Knower of the Ghaib, and He reveals to none His Ghaib) (72: 26). As for Allah's verse, (had I knowledge of the Ghaib (Unseen), I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth), Ibn Abbas said: If the Prophet had knowledge of the Ghaib, he would know how much money he would earn if he bought something, therefore he would make a lot of money and would not be stricken by poverty. On the other hand, Ibn Jarir and others said: It means that had I knowledge of the Ghaib, I would have prepared myself 125
