Page:03 وَإِن جَنَحُوا (٦١) لِلسَّلْمِ فَاجْنَحْ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ ) (٦٢ وَإِن يُرِيدُوا أَن يَخدَعُوكَ فَإِنَّ حَسْبَكَ اللَّهُ هُوَ الَّذِي أَيْدَكَ ينصره، وَبِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِهِمْ لَوْ أَنفَقْتَ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مَّا أَلَّفْتَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ أَلَّفَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِنَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمُ ال (٦٣) (If they incline to peace, you too incline to it, and put your trust in Allah. He is the All-Hearer, the All- Knower. And if they intend to deceive you, then verily, Allah is Sufficient for you. He it is Who supported you with His Help and with the believers. And He has united their hearts. If you had spent all that is in the Earth, you could not have united their hearts, but Allah has united them. Certainly, He is All-Mighty, All-Wise) (8: 61-63) Allah says: If you fear treachery from any people, break your covenant with them mutually as well. And if they persist in waging war against you and violating their treaty with you, then fight against them. However, (if they incline to peace, you too incline to it), that is, accept their proposal for peace. Hence, when the polytheists asked for peace at Hudaibiyyah, the Prophet 59
