Aghar ibn Yassar says that the Prophet said: 'People! Repent towards Allah and ask Him to forgive you. For I repent a hundred times a day.'10 said: Abu Musa Ash'ari says that the Prophet 'Allah extends His Hand at night so that He can forgive the sinner of the day; He extends His Hand in the day so that He can forgive the sinner of the night. He will continue to do this until the sun rises from the West (the Day of Judgement.'11 Abu Hurairah says that the Prophet said: 'Whoever repents before the sun rises from the West, Allah will forgive him.'12 Ibn Abbas and Anas ibn Malik both narrate the Prophet as saying: 13 'If the son of Adam had one valley of gold, he would crave for two: his stomach cannot be filled except with dirt (of the grave) and Allah will forgive the one repents."
