Description of islamic Book
Show Up: A Motivational Message for Muslim Women is an empowering and motivational book designed to inspire Muslim women to embrace their unique strengths and live with confidence, faith, and purpose. In a world where women often face various personal and social challenges, this book offers encouragement rooted in Islamic values and spiritual reflection.
The book reminds readers that every woman has an important role to play in her family, community, and society. By strengthening faith, developing resilience, and recognizing personal potential, women can make meaningful contributions while remaining true to their Islamic identity.
From Author:
When award-winning author and magazine editor Na'ima B. Robert lost her husband of 15 years and found herself solely responsible for their five children and her late husband's company, the entire axis of her world shifted. Suddenly, she was a widow, a single mother, and a reluctant CEO.
But, through her faith in Allah's plan for her and her decision to choose gratitude over despair, she was able to rise from the tragedy and show up differently: more present, more confident, more powerful, more grateful than ever.
So many of us sleepwalk through life: frustrated, unhappy and lacking confidence in our abilities and accomplishments, destined never to reach our full potential. We allow our limiting beliefs to hold us back. We allow our challenges to define us. We allow other people's expectations to imprison us.
'Show Up: A Motivational Message for Muslim Women' is based on the lessons Na'ima learnt on her journey, inviting the reader to show up, authentically and sincerely, in their lives, casting aside the role of victim and instead, living as the hero of their own life story.
The book is replete with personal stories, quotes from Qu'ran, hadith and contemporary thinkers like Seth Godin, Brene Brown and others, as well as action points and space for the reader to reflect and apply the principles.

WHAT is 'Showing Up'?
Sometimes, it can be easier to define something by describing its opposite and the opposite of showing up is multi-faceted and complex:
It is pretending to be someone you're not.
It is not being fully present or mindful with your loved ones.
It is performing your roles in life with a sense of resentment or martyrdom.
It is playing the role of 'victim'.
It is wearing a mask.
And above all, it is hiding your true self.

needed anything. It was an outpouring of community support that I will always be grateful for.
As I wrote at the time...
The words are like water: At times
They flow effortlessly Slipping over stones in a stream. At other times
They trickle, Painstaking,
Drop by drop by drop
Until the flow resumes, Because then
The words are a waterfall Gushing forth
A wall of wonder At one with the world
At one with the Word At one with the tears That gush forth Like waterfalls
To wash away my worries To wean me off the pain To purify To clarify
To cleanse me once again. Word after blessed word
Until minutes turn to hours And my hand is damp in yours.

"I found him unconscious on the bed early on Saturday morning and, within two weeks, he was gone.
A shock.
An out-of-the-blue, out of nowhere, blindsiding shock."
