تسمية السورة:
۱ - اسمها: «سورة الشمس»، أو «سورة وَالشَّمس »، كما في معظم كتب
التفسير والحديث (۱).
٢ - وسماها البخاري في صحيحه» ، والترمذي في «جامعه»: «سورة وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَها (۲)، بالآية الأولى منها، وهكذا هي في بعض كتب التفسير، وهذا جيد للتفريق بينها وبين السور الأخرى في جزء (عم) المبدوءة بالشمس، مثل قوله : إذا الشَّمْسُ كُورَتْ ونحوها . عدد آياتها : (١٥) آية، أو (١٦) بحسب اختلاف المصاحف (۳).
