"A man" hadith 821]. There is in the Muwatta of Yahya and its commentary, "Mälik from Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah ibn Abi Maryam al-Khuzai." Abū Ḥatim said, "A right-acting Madinan shaykh," and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in ath-Thiqat that he was the one who asked Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab, and so by that the unknown man is made known.
"A narrator who is trustworthy to me" (hadith 716]. Az-Zurqani said, "Some say that it was Makhramah ibn Bukayr or Ibn Luhay'ah, because al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated it from 'Abdullah ibn Luhay'ah."
Aban ibn 'Uthman ibn 'Affan - [son of] the Amir al-Mu'minin and of the third of the Khulafa" who took the right way - Abu Abdullah the Madinan was a Follower who had many narrations and who was a trustworthy narrator. He died in 105 AH.
'Abbad ibn al-Awwam. Adh-Dhahabi said in Tadhkirat al-huffaz, "Abbad ibn al-Awwam the imam and scholar of hadith Abu Sahl al- Wăsiți. Abū Dawūd and others regarded him as a trustworthy narrator. Ibn Sa'd said, 'He was one of the noble men in every respect.' He had become a shi'ah and ar-Rashid imprisoned him for a time and then later released him, and so he resided in Baghdad.

Shaykh Abd al-Hayy al-Laknawi was born in Banda, India, on Tuesday, 26th of Dhu'l- Qa'dah 1264 AH. He was a descendant of Abu Ayyüb al-Anşări. He began to memorise the Qur'an at the age of five completing it when he was ten years old, at which age he led tarawih prayer. He learnt both the intellectual and transmitted sciences from his father and completed his studies when he was seventeen, learning mathematics from his father's uncle and teacher Mawlānā Muḥammad Ni'matullah ibn Mawlana Nurullah. The Shaykh had a great love for study and writing, and wrote more than 115 works on numerous sciences, among the most famous of which is at-Ta'liq al-mumajjad. He passed away in Rabi' al-Awwal 1304 AH at the age of 39.
