The book encourages readers to constantly examine their hearts and ask themselves:
- Is my Iman increasing or decreasing?
- What strengthens my relationship with Allah?
- What weakens my faith and spiritual focus?
Causes of Weakness in Faith

- The distractions and trials of worldly life

- Supplication (Dua)
- Remembering Allah (Dhikr)
- Reading and reflecting upon the Qur’an

- Performing acts of worship consistently
- Seeking beneficial knowledge

RESTORING ONE'S IMAN
Indeed, the foremost concern a servant must pay due attention to is 'Iman. It is the most valuable (thing) one can earn and obtain. With Iman, one will achieve honor in this life and the one to come. In addition, all good that can be obtained in this life and the hereafter is subjected to having a sound 'Iman. It is necessary for every servant who has 'Iman and sincerity to inspect his 'Iman; does his 'Iman grow, or does it wither?
The servant is in dire need to restore his 'Iman, take steps in perfecting it, guard it against what decreases and weakens it, and strengthen it.
İman undergoes numerous matters that decrease it; among them are trials of this life, Shaytan's whispers, bad and corrupt companions, and the evil soul that always calls to evil, and so forth. So, one needs to take quick causes to strengthen and restore it.
Al-Hakim reported in his book al-Mustadrak and at- Tabarani reported in his book al-M'ujam al-Kabir on the authority of Abdullah bin Umar bin al-Aas (A) who said that the Messenger of Alläh
