'Nothing,' said Aliya, who had been looking out of the window for some time.
'Nothing?" said Bilal surprised. 'You must be looking at something!'
Aliya was silent for a few moments and then she said,
'This morning, when Mum was feeding us breakfast, I heard her say to Daddy that Ramadan was coming.'
"What's Ramadan?' Bilal asked.
'I don't know,' said Aliya. 'But I thought I would see Ramadan coming if I looked out of the window."
Bilal thought that was a good idea, and he decided to help his sister keep a look-out for the expected visitor.

close eye on everything Mum bought.
First of all Mum bought lots of fruit.
Mum also bought some cakes, pastries and lots and lots of samosas.
She then bought lots of brown sticky stuff which Bilal and Aliya found out were called dates.
'Ramadan eats a lot,' said Bilal.
'Yes,' agreed Aliya, 'he likes to eat all the nice
stuff.'
