KNOWLEDGE
& ITS EFFECTS ON PURIFYING SOULS
From the book:
Purifying the soul is important in this time of temptations. Which may turn one away from good deeds and make indulge in evil deeds. Abdullah Ibn Al-Mubarak, one of the successors of the Prophet's companions, said in his time,
"In the past, the righteous people were doing good deeds voluntarily. Our own selves, unfortunately, do good deeds with reluctance; and hence we should force ourselves to do good deeds."
He said this at a time [of righteousness], what about our era when some temptations and seductions prevent one from worship.
