The Meeting of noble Abdul Muttalib with Abrahah
Noble Abdul Muttalib met Abrahah near Mina. Abdul Muttalib was a very handsome, tall, the most dignified and impressive of men. When Abrahah saw him, he was so impressed by his appearance that he rose from his royal seat to greet him and made him sit beside him with respect. Both the leaders began to converse. Abdul Muttalib said, 'Your troops have taken two hundred of my camels. I ask of you that they be returned to me.' Abrahah retorted, 'Abdul Muttalib! I had anticipated that you would plead with me regarding the House of Allah, but you are merely talking about your camels.'
Noble Abdul Muttalib gave him a reply, which deserves to be heard and read, 'I am the lord of these camels, so I have spoken to you about them.

Reading about this incident, we can well understand that among the Children of Hâshim, the importance of Tawhid or Oneness of Allah and its importance, was still alive.

Protect You Your House.' After this prayer, Abdul Muttalib commanded the Quraysh to withdraw to the hills above the town and into the ravines around it.

The next morning Abrahah made ready to march into the town. He started from Arafât and reached the Valley of Muhassar near Mina. His elephant which was called Mahmud, slowly and deliberately knelt himself down to the ground. He refused to march forth towards the House of Allah.
