According to the all-knowing Allah, in the Holy Qur'an, it is stated: "And whatever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatever he forbids you, abstain from it." [al-Hashr (59):7] Abu Hurayrah (radiyAllahu‘anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessing be upon him) said: "All of my Ummah (nation) will enter Paradise except those who refuse." When asked who would refuse, he (peace and blessing be upon him) responded: "Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise and whoever disobeys me, refuses to enter Paradise." This hadith is recorded in Al-Bukhari. Despite the widespread belief that the Qur'an is the sole source of Islam, the status of the Sunnah (or Ahadith) has become a confusing and often disregarded concept. Some even deny its importance altogether, preferring the opinions of others over the clear

The Hadith is Sufficient Proof in Itself, in Matters of Belief and Rulings Section One: The Qur'an Commands us to Refer to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah() for Legal Rulings As for the Book (of Allah], in it there are many verses, some of which I will mention in this foreword, to serve as reminders [for Indeed, reminding benefits the believers].'" 1. Allah, the Most High says: CHAPTER ONE The Obligation to Refer to the Sunnah and the Unlawfulness of Contradicting it O noble brothers: All of the early Muslims were in agreement that the Prophetic Sunnah-may the choicest prayers and peace be upon its bearer-is the second and last source of Islamic Law, in all aspects of life, including matters of belief, practical rulings, politics and education, and that it is not permissible to contradict any of them based on opinion, ijtihad or qiyas (analogy), as Imam Al-Shafi'i-may Allah, the Most High have mercy on him-said at the end of Al-Risalah': "It is not lawful to resort to qiyas (anal- ogy) when khabar is present." Similar statements were made by the later scholars of Usil (Fundamentals of Islamic Jurisprudence): If an athar (tradition) has been reported, then opinion is invalid.' There is no ijtihad in cases where evidence has been reported." And their evidence for this is the Noble Book [of Allah] and the pure Sunnah. وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِن وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمْرًا أَن يَكُونَ هُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ وَمَن يَعْصِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَالًا مينات "It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a mat- ter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error." [al-Ahzab (33):36] 2. Allah, the Almighty, the All-Powerful says: يأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا نُقَدِّمُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ لله "O you who have believed, do not put [yourselves] before Allah and His Messenger but fear Allah. In- deed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing." 3. And He says: "See al-Dhariyat (51):55. [al-Hujurat (49):1] 48 49

FOLLOW THE SUNNAH OF THE PROPHET () Imam Muḥmmad Nasir al-Din al-Albāni Allah, the Most High said: "And whatsoever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain [from it]." [al-Hashr (59):7] Abu Hurayrah (radiyAllahu'anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (5) said: "All of my Ummah (nation) will enter Paradise except those who refuse." He was asked: 'Who would refuse?' He () said: "Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise and whosoever disobeys me, refuses [to enter Paradise)." Al-Bukhari The notion that the Qur'an is the only source of our religion has become widespread in recent times. The Sunnah (or Ahadith), on the other hand, has become something strange, and most people are confused about its status. It is common to hear people denigrating its importance. They often say: "it is only the Sunnah", implying that one can take it or leave it. It has become the norm to give preference to the opinions of others over the clear and authentic Sunnah. Some even go as far as denying the Sunnah altogether. In Islam the Sunnah holds a lofty and unique position - it is revelation from Allah, the Most High, to al Mustafa - the chosen one. Learning and teaching the Sunnah is pivotal to understanding and implementing the religion. Allah, al-Hafidh, has Promised to protect his Religion and has Preserved the Sunnah in its entirety. The text before you is a compilation of three works of the learned scholar, Imām al-Albāni (rahmatullahi alaihi). The first section of the book discusses Ahadith and its importance in Islam. The second treatise answers questions related to the Noble Qur'an and its relationship to the Sunnah, that were posed to the Sheikh and later transcribed into text form. The final text covers the status of the Sunnah and its necessity in order to fully understand the Qur'an and other related issues. This is an important work for every sincere Muslim who wants to tread the path of the Prophet [#] and his noble companions. In these latter times, there are many issues of confusion. The Sheikh perceived that there was an urgent need to respond, and he has succeeded in addressing and dispelling the doubts. لسنة Där as-Sunnah Publishers BIRMINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM E-mail: info@darassunnah.com @SunnahDar fin Dar as-Sunnah Publishers Copyright 2021 by Där as-Sunnah Publishers Visit us www.darassunnah.com ISBN-13: 978-1-904336-72-3 ISBN-10: 1-904336-72-8 9 781904 336723 >

Imam al-Albani

Imam Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani (1914–1999) was a distinguished Islamic scholar and hadith expert, renowned for his contributions to hadith authentication. Originating from Albania and later based in Syria, he dedicated his life to verifying the authenticity of hadiths, advocating for a return to the Quran and authentic Sunnah. His works, such as Silsilat al-Ahadith as-Sahihah (The Series of Authentic Hadiths) and Silsilat al-Ahadith ad-Da'ifah (The Series of Weak Hadiths), set a benchmark in hadith sciences. Al-Albani’s scholarship greatly influenced modern Salafi thought and had a lasting impact on Islamic studies.
