Description of Book
Fiqh Course Tahaarah, Salaah & Janaa'iz
This foundational course has been carefully compiled for new Muslims and, in fact, for all English-speaking Muslims seeking clarity and authenticity in their religious practice. It focuses on three essential aspects of Islamic worship: Tahaarah (purification), Salaah (prayer), and Janaa'iz (funeral rites). These acts form the bedrock of a Muslim’s daily life and spiritual responsibilities, and understanding them correctly is crucial for maintaining a sound relationship with Allah.
What sets this book apart is its clear, simple, and methodical presentation. Designed with accessibility in mind, the book explains each concept in a straightforward manner without oversimplifying important rulings. It draws directly from the Qur’an and authentic Ahaadeeth (sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him), ensuring that the information provided is rooted in reliable and sound Islamic sources. This approach makes the content suitable not only for beginners but also for those seeking to refresh and solidify their foundational knowledge.

1. Human Urine and 2. Human Faeces:
As for faeces, the evidence for its impurity is in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (4), which states that Allah's Messenger () said:
"If any of you steps in something harmful (i.e. unclean) with his shoe, then (he should know that) dust cleans it." (Abu Dawood)
As for urine, the evidence for its impurity lies in the hadith of Anas (4), which says that a bedouin man urinated in the mosque and some of the people rose up to seize him, but the Messenger of Allah ()said: "Leave him, and do not interrupt him." Anas (4) said: "So when he went out, he called for a bucket of water and poured it upon it (i.e. the urine)." (Bukhari and Muslim)
3. Al-Madhi and 4. Al-Wadi
As for al-madhi, it is a white, thin, sticky liquid, which is emitted at times of sexual arousal, not at the moment of ejaculation, nor is it followed by flaccidity. It is possible for it to be emitted without a person being aware of it. Both men and women have it. It is considered najis and this is why the Prophet () ordered that the penis be washed when it occurs. It is reported on the authority of 'Ali (4) that he said: "I was a person who suffered from penile discharge and I was embarrassed to ask the Prophet () because of my position with respect to his daughter. So I told Al-Miqdaad ibn al-Aswad to ask him for me and so Al-Miqdaad asked him and he ()said: "Let him make ablution and wash his penis." (Bukhari and Muslim)
As for al-wadi, it is a thick, white solution which is secreted after
Najis: Impure.
