According to the teachings of Islam, desires and appetites form an integral part of human nature—but when left unchecked, they can reduce us to mere servants of our whims. In this book, Sheikh Abdul Hamid Kishk presents a compelling and warmly accessible account of how one can deal practically and spiritually with the twin challenges of lust and greed: recognising their triggers, understanding their effects, and applying the guidance of the Qur’an and the Sunnah to gain mastery over them and thus lead a more disciplined, meaningful and joyous life.
