Introduction Praise be to Allah, we praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own souls and from our evil deeds. Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever Allah leaves astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is none is worthy of wor- ship except Allah alone, with no partner or associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad His slave and Messenger. يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَانِهِ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ ) O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims), with complete submission to Allāh. [Al Imran (3): 102] يَأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالًا كَثِيرًا وَنِسَاء وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي تَسَاءَلُونَ بهِ وَالْأَرْحَامَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًا O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who cre- ated you from a single person (Adam) and from him He created his wife (Hawa), and from them both he created many men and women, and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever an All- Watcher over you.

WEAKNESS OF imān IT'S SIGNS OF WEAKNESS, CAUSES AND CURES by Shaikh Muhammad Salih al-Munajjid The phenomenon of weak iman has become very widespread among Muslims, and many people complain about the hardness of their hearts. So often we hear the words, I feel hardness in my heart,' 'I do not find any joy in worship,' 'I feel that my faith has hit rock bottom,' Reading Qur'an does not move me,' 'I fall into sin so easily." So the believer must check his heart, find out the nature and cause of the problem, and start treating it straight away, before it overwhelms him and destroys him. The matter is of the utmost seriousness, for Allah has warned us against the heart that is hardened, closed, sick, blind and sealed. There follows a discussion of the symptoms of weak iman, what causes it and how it may be treated. We ask Allah to benefit all Muslim brothers and sisters through this work, and to richly reward all those who have played a part in producing this book, for He is the One Whom we ask to soften our hearts and guide us.
