Description of islamic Book

A deeply moving and reflective book by Omar Suleiman that explores the power of duʿa (supplication) and how turning to Allah can transform your heart and life.

From Author:

One should never underestimate the power of du’a as it can change your destiny. The Prophet Muhammad used to make certain du’as in certain situations, but what if one feels that they are not worthy of calling upon Allah or just simply don’t know how. When you look through the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad, you don’t just find the words that match your situation, you also find a beautiful approach to your Lord as a whole. When you understand your Creator better and learn how to call upon Him like the prophet Muhammad did, you will also understand the world around you better and become more focussed. This short book includes 26 wonderful du’as (supplications) in Arabic with English translation and related commentary, as taught to us by our beloved Prophet Muhammad.

Don't say "insha'Allah" in du'a
the Messenger of Allah said,
is reported by Anas * that عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ when one of you calls upon إِذَا دَعَا أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَعْزِمْ فِي الدُّعَاءِ Allah, let him be determined in وَلَا يَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَعْطِنِي
the supplication and not say,
'O Allah, give me if You will,' for
there is no one to coerce Allah."
[Sahih al-Bukhari 6338;
Sahih Muslim 2678]
فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا مُسْتَكْرِهَ لَهُ
Chapter 3 Allah is a du'a away
Reflections
Commentary
A common mistake is to say "insha'Allah" (if Allah wills) at the end of a du'a. The Prophet taught us to avoid such phrasing as it lessens the impact and potency of the du'a. We must ask Allah with full certainty, especially when we know what we are asking for is good for us. Saying insha'Allah in a du'a is like saying "O Allah, give it to me if you want to" or "Forgive me if you want to." When translated, it becomes clearer that this wording is inappropriate, suggesting a lack of genuine need for the thing you are requesting.
Furthermore, nobody can force Allah to do anything; He only does what He wills. Therefore, the phrase "if You will" is unnecessary when addressing Allah because He is not subject to coercion or compulsion. We must ask Allah with full conviction and hope that He will grant our requests. It is important to remember that while saying insha'Allah is appropriate when talking about the future, it is generally considered bad etiquette when making du'a. Have firm faith that the Most Merciful will answer your du'a, and ask with confidence and certainty.
Gems Call out to Allah desperately, but confidently. Allah does not tire of answering you until you tire of asking Him.
Allah answered the du'a of the worst creation, Iblis, when he asked for respite until Judgement Day. Don't let your shortcomings keep you from asking Allah.
