Description du livre

Women in Islam is a book that describes how women are honored, their rights, and their responsibilities based on actual Islamic principles. The book is based on actual Islamic principles and guides readers on how to understand these principles from the Quran and Sunnah. The book shows how Islam honors women in various capacities such as being a daughter, wife, mother, or simply a member of society.

The book clears up many misconceptions about women in Islam and shows how women are honored with dignity and rights in matters such as education, marriage, inheritance, and self-respect. The book also shows how women are encouraged to improve their relationship with Allah and be positive influences in society. The book is written in such a simple manner that readers are able to understand how women are important in building strong societies through balanced Islamic principles.

From Author:

WOMEN IN ISLAM is an attractive book of simple compilation of quotations from the Qur'an and Hadith collections that refer to or address women specifically. It engages the reader in a moment of reflection on the Islamic view of womanhood: her existence as a creation of Allah, her role as a positive stakeholder in building a God-conscious society and her capacity for attaining proximity with Allah.

Beautifully presented, it makes a perfect gift and a valuable addition to every home.

Allah has given you mates of your own kind. He has granted you through your mates children and grandchildren. He gives you pure and wholesome things to eat. Do people still believe in falsehood and disbelieve in Allah's signs? (AL-NAHL 16: 72)
Spouses, children and food are listed here as Allah's great bounties, all of which we should appreciate; we should be thankful to Allah for them. The above Qur'anic passage also underscores the perfect compact- ability between a man and a woman. Being created from the same kind, they are made for each other.

Believing Women in the Qur'an
Apart from making numerous references to women in different contexts, the Qur'an portrays some women as role models. Below is their account, gleaned from the Qur'an and other authentic Islamic sources.
Maryam (Mary)
Maryam takes pride of place among all the women mentioned in the Quran; she is portrayed with these enviable appellations:
Jesus's mother was a saintly woman. (AL-MA'IDA 5: 75)
And recall when the angels told Mary: 'O Mary: Surely Allah has chosen you and cleansed you. He has preferred you to all the women in the world! (AL'IMRAN 3:42)
She is prominent not only for being the mother of such an illustrious Messenger of Allah as Prophet
