Camping (almost) wild
Assalaamu 'alaikum!
I'm going to tell you about an adventure that happened during my last half term break. It was in the Autumn.
It had all started off on the wrong foot...
Me and Binti had already been on holiday for two days, and boredom had started to set in.

I missed my school friends and was bored with being stuck at home all day long. Although the Autumn half term break is usually my favourite, this time it was different.
A few days ago, Abi had decided to renovate the garden. The Summer had been hot and the sun had been deadly for the lawn.

"To light a fire," said Abi who was sitting next to the small pit, "there are several ways. Of course, you could use
matches or a lighter... but what do you do when you don't have them?"

"We ask to borrow one from the neighbours?" I said. "And what if they're not around?" said Abi.
"We go and buy something from the shop?" said Binti. "And what if there aren't any shops, or they're out of stock?" added Abi. "You see, that's what I want to explain to you. We can't always depend on either materials or people. We also have to be prepared to SURVIVE!"
"Survive?" I said, somewhat surprised. "What do you mean?"
"Surviving," explained Abi, "means seeking to live even if the conditions are tough and extreme. We, as Muslims, must be capable of surviving!"

Abi, Oummi, Binti and of course Walad, make up the
Foulane family, a small Muslim family living peacefully in a house in a small town.
For the autumn half term break, Abi had an outlandish idea - to go camping!
But not just anywhere... they'll be setting up camp at the bottom of Grandma DIY's enormous garden, right next to the forest.
Between pitching the tent, lighting the campfire, and listening to the animals call at night, Walad is about to discover the joys and fears of wild camping!
