The biography is compiled by Abd al-Malik Ibn Hisham (d. 218 AH), one of the earliest and most respected historians of the Arabic language and Islamic tradition. Drawing on the earlier work of Ibn Ishaq, Ibn Hisham arranged, refined, and edited the material to present a coherent, reliable, and widely trusted account of the Prophet’s ﷺ life — omitting weak or irrelevant reports and clarifying challenging narratives.
