Description du livre

Servants of the Most Merciful by Omar Suleiman explores the beautiful character traits of true believers as described in Surah Al-Furqan, offering practical lessons on humility, patience, and devotion to Allah.

From Author:

One of the most beautiful portions of the Qur’an describes a detailed manual for how a believer should live their life. How one becomes Ibadur Rahman, the servant of the most Merciful. It encompasses multiple elements and dimensions of worship, family life, character, reflection, and living as a community. These key qualities, if properly implemented in our lives, will allow us to become the true servants that we should all aspire to become. This book will take you on that journey to identify and implement those qualities in your life, solely for the pleasure of Allah.

Content:

These inner pages from “Servants of the Most Merciful” by Omar Suleiman present a spiritually uplifting guide inspired by the Qur’anic description of ‘Ibad al-Rahman — the true servants of Allah, the Most Merciful. The opening pages introduce the book along with its chapter-based structure, covering essential themes such as humility, modesty, prayer, generosity, piety, forgiveness, speech, family relationships, and the rewards of Paradise. Published in association with the Yaqeen Institute, the book combines Qur’anic guidance, Hadith, and practical reflections to help readers develop noble character and strengthen their relationship with Allah.

The featured pages focus on qualities such as humility, gentleness, and devotion in prayer. Through reflective questions, practical advice, and reminders from the Sunnah, the book encourages readers to embody mercy in their actions, speech, and interactions with others. It emphasizes the spiritual significance of sujud (prostration), describing it as the moment when a servant is closest to Allah and highlighting the importance of spending time in worship and sincere supplication. The content is written in a thoughtful and accessible style, making deep Islamic concepts easy to understand and apply in daily life. With inspiring lessons rooted in the Qur’an and authentic Hadith, this book serves as a practical roadmap for becoming among the true servants of the Most Merciful.

Chapter Three Summary
وَالَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًا وَقِيَامًا
"And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]." (25:64)
Who is this verse referring to?
Those who spend time in their homes with their Lord. The Tbad al-Rahman see isolation as an opportunity to enjoy seclusion with Allah. They energize themselves by spending their nights with Him. To be composed, have a mild presence.

Why does this verse emphasize sujud? "The servant is closest to his Lord during w prostration, so increase your supplications therein." (Sahih Muslim 482)
It's the closest you can get to your Lord. In salah, the entire rak'ah is building up to the Sajdah.
Sajdah is the act we should be driven to in hardship and in gratitude, in pain and in pleasure.
The more you lower your body, the higher your soul ascend.
