From Author:
Endangering the smooth running of its affairs, in relation to its vision, moral values, conducts, inter-relationship, and interests. It is believed that clear apprehension of the drifts and trajectories along which a family should tread would provide the uttermost and worthwhile rectitude and success expected of a Muslim family, as it would also provide an appreciable and remarkable definition for the methodologies and techniques that are necessary for parents to adopt in their children's upbringing. It would be noticed that we, individual families and societies, are faced with the problem of how to relate with the overwhelming modern cultures that have been vigorously streamed on us from all nooks and crannies of the world. Moreover, in reality this problem is no more of relationship or management, the effect of those alien cultures has grown to being capable of causing a lot differences among people in our community, in relation to their manners, general practices and traditions, which are the main points of contest. Also, Muslims generally are faced with the problem of illiteracy, poverty, and unemployment. Even among those who work, a large percentage of them engage in hard corporal jobs. Consequently, all these have affected the level of attention the parents pay to their families, in terms of planning their family lives and projecting for the upbringing and future of their children. This makes it necessary for us to continue to discuss and write on the matter of child upbringing, as that is the only way out for us. And this is the aim of writing this book.

HOME TRAJECTORY
In this book, we try not to follow the traditional pattern of writing academic books. This is simply because it is believed that most parents are in need of a concise book that will assist them in building a committed, conscious, and modern Islamic family.
In that wise, we are going to discuss decisively regarding what is necessary for parents to know concerning child upbringing as well as the various necessary lessons they are to offer to their children, both in theory and in practice. It should then be noted, that this book is not written for the purpose of establishing only an ordinary family, rather it is written to assist in producing a distinct and outstanding family, that is, one that understands very well its religious dictates and practices, and the life in which it lives, as well as all it takes to dwell therein successfully in peace, stability and harmony.
All these in mind, the reader will realise that this book does not discuss unnecessary concepts, as well as the common ideas of most families. So, to a very large extent, such families will neither find therein their usual objectives nor see it solving most of their trivial problems. However, it is also necessary to mention that - by the grace of Allah - this book has taken care of the families that are concerned about ameliorating the standard and development of their members, by providing them with guides for proper planning against their future, as they will also derive from it, a fillet that is of paramount importance and enormous advantage. Also, this book aims at demonstrating the natural difference between theories and day to day practical realities in all facets of human life. More so, there are parents who have attic concern and esteem aspiration in respect of their families.
These kinds of people are not always satisfied with the general little and common ideas found around. They are always on the move to search for the best. It is hoped that these people will appreciate this book as they will find therein a large percentage of what they long for.
Furthermore, the procurement of a good vision is a duty, obligation, necessity, and primary requirement of any Muslim family, alongside

AMELIORATING
OUR UNDERSTANDINGS AWARENESS BY WAY OF COMPARISON
AND
It is of great importance to a Muslim family that it apprehends its environment, and tries to understand its status therein, in order to be able to assess its success and failure. However, the level of involvement and participation of any family in the notable Islamic practices and etiquettes is enough measure of either its success or failure. For instance, if a family is deficient in the matters of either compulsory prayers, fasting, or zakah, it is obvious that it is negligent about a great pillar from the pillars of Islam, compared to another family that is very diligent about it. So, it is quite easy to understand the state of any family when compared with others of its kind.
If a family lives in isolation when there are possibilities, chances and even necessities of it living together with others and mixing up with them, it would only have a sole awareness and understanding of itself. Also, it would not be able to assess itself in comparison with other families. Therefore, living with others and mixing up with them would assist any family to understand the status and wa ys of life of the people around it, which invariably will help it in assessing itself.
For example, the matters of comfort, stability and security are naturally relative ones. If someone lives in a big suite but in a location where most of the houses there are mansions, castles, and palaces, he may not be contented or comfortable. However, his big suite would be a source of joy and happiness if it were to be located in a public place where most of the houses there are cottages. The suite is an entity, but for it to bring joy or otherwise, it depends on where it is located.
So, it is necessary that when we make comparison, we are pertinent, because if one compares himself with someone who is not of his caliber, the result may be misleading or frustrating. Moreover, regarding worldly things, it is necessary that we do not compare ourselves with people that are richer or more highly placed than us. That may make us not to appreciate the favours and blessings of Allah on us as we ought to.
