It is noteworthy that there exist today, many educational books of good value as well as inferior ones; a fact that has caused many people to be confused in the choice of books to enrich their ability to train their children wisely and successfully.
On the other hand, the list of needs that are considered necessary for education has now expanded very greatly. And we know well that when things considered to be crucial needs have reached a hundred or two, one naturally feels a weakness to confront the challenge of providing them; which may even cause one to turn away partly or completely.
From this standpoint, my thoughts have been arrested by the need for me to discuss the master key in interacting with young people and training them, which is the mother. Perhaps by this, I will help my reader to possess and expand his latitude in understanding the psychology of child upbringing and its basic methodology.

THE SECOND PRINCIPLE
The details of this principle need to be understood and to be recalled to the mind daily at every effort we make in the name
of upbringing. In the view of Islam, the purpose of educating children goes beyond the desire to build a generation of strong, relevant, and successful individuals. It is basically to build a generation of pious believers who would foremost work to accomplish the will of Allah on earth, through calling to the path of Allah and obeying His injunctions. This is only possible after imparting the right values and principles to them from the Islamic perspective, in accordance with Islam's scale of ranking priorities.
We do want to live in our time as people who are fully aware of all its trappings, to influence events around us and contribute to general trends. We desire this for our kids too, but only for a greater, more honorable purpose, which is to earn Allah's ultimate pleasure. This is not possible unless we first teach our families how to watch the limits set by Allah, both in times of ease and in adversity.
This principle points to two fundamental things. One, that in this endeavor of child upbringing, we are only a part of the bigger world around us whose trends and currents influence us. We also benefit from the world its ways and tools in the training of our little ones. With rapt attention and open-mindedness, we listen to its precepts and seek to benefit from its discoveries. We are sure to find a lot of material that would be of help to us in our mission of child upbringing.
Two, that in spite of being a part of this larger world, we are different at two distinct levels. Firstly, it is the level of problem identification, since the problems of children in Tunisia, Pakistan, and Malaysia are different from those of children in France, Australia, and Canada. These are two different worlds altogether and problems related to children in different countries are necessarily different too.
Secondly, it is the level of content and focus of education, the values, principles, and concepts that we consider essential to raise our children on, in order to produce pious individuals.

CHILD UPBRINGING
When anyone buys a complex modern device which he is not familiar with, he certainly would seek to operate it by first studying the user's manual, or asking people who have used a similar device before. Manufacturers often warn against using their products before acquiring the requisite know-how; and many have made mistakes which eventually led to the destruction of equipment they had paid so highly to acquire.
A child is more complex than any modern device. Giving a child a proper upbringing requires a combination of knowledge, experience and skill.
However, people hate to acknowledge this and it is the reason why some people may have the courage to beget seven children without ever considering reading a pamphlet, listening to a lecture or even consulting a specialist (in child upbringing).
We are already paying the price for that brazenness, which is the delinquency of many adolescents besides the failure of many in their educational pursuits and practical life. However, there is hope in what we see these days, of increase in awareness regarding the need for proper upbringing and specialized education.
Perhaps I should make the following observations on this subject:
1. By the term 'Education in Upbringing', we mean the combination of all information and skills required for creating a conducive environment in training the young ones, educating them, imparting good manners, as well as dealing with their mistakes and problems associated with them. It also means understanding the essence of upbringing, how it is dependent on interacting with youths and creating a sense of belonging in them.
Apart from that, we need to understand the principles, values, sacrifices, ideologies, and concept involved in this process. Never will these ingredients come together
