Jon Lach of us might know her directly or indirectly - someone who was very talented and bright, with a brilliant mind brimming with novel ideas for the betterment of the Muslim Ummah and the world. She loved to dress up, cook and mingle with her friends, just as much as she loved reading a good, spiritually-charged book of knowledge or attending a lecture by a notable shaykh that would rejuvenate her faith within minutes.
ailsShe was active in the local community, arranging and attending lectures, talks and sisterly get-togethers, where she contributed to 'the life of the party', so to speak. She met everyone at the local Eid prayer with a glowing countenance, and became the object of discreet nudges and knowingly-exchanged glances by 'aunties', 'checking her out' for their sons or brothers.

Allah "It's her round-the-clock care-giving routine with the baby," you are told. Nodding in silent agreement, you cannot help but wonder. A year or so down the road, you are informed of her husband's financial troubles and about her having to move back in with her in-laws.or
