To The Broken Hearted Dedication To those whose hearts are broken. What a world! How full of traitors it is! To those whom death has taken a piece of their hearts but they remain patient because they know that there is in Paradise, a meeting after which there will be separation! To those who are wearied by illness, yet, it did not turn them away from the doorstep of Allah, because they know that the world is but the home of trial! To those whom Allah has tried with straitened provision yet, they thanked Him and remained patient over His decree, so they became rich in their heart. To the chaste divorcees, and the widows clutching an ember! To the righteous young men who struggle against themselves and their devils! To the sad, oppressed and betrayed. I know words cannot fill the void. your hearts, but they are consoling. So, I dedicate this book to you all, in the hope that it will console you in your moment of trial. To The Broken Hearted Whenever you feel betrayed by a person whom you had always held in high esteem, you have not just lost trust in one person, you have lost trust in everyone. After the betrayal, you will forever live in fear and you will not permit anyone to gain access to your heart, for you will see everyone else as a bearer of a lurking betrayal. You will become cold and unaffected by words to the extent of the apprehension they trigger in you. You will feel like someone who miraculously. survived drowning; though he survived, he will forever be afraid of water. You will be like a nightingale who survived the shot of the hunter, but forever lost the security of the tree afterwards. Like the one whose hand is amputated, and he sees nothing but his stump. It happens that people are often stuck in their wounds; may Allah help those who have been hurt from the place of their safety. May Allah not excuse the one who entered a heart and ripped it of its tranquility.

-To The Broken Hearted Do not blame yourself and look for the reason in yourself. You are very normal even though you were deceived. You trusted because anyone who loves trusts. You trusted because relationships without trust is hell. You uncovered the underlining weakness in you because the lover takes off all his defenses. Do not be ashamed for being the victim. The shame is for the executioner only. Kindness, even if its consequences are dire, is not a mistake. The mistake is only for the cruel. You do not have to feel ashamed because you opened the door. The shame is for the one who knocked the door with vain intentions. 12 To The Broken Hearted If you want to get rid of a relationship. With the slightest of pains and the easiest of ways Then, close all doors and windows against it Do not steal a look at it or lend it a hearing Leave them to their lives and proceed with yours Relate with the matter the way you relate with the dead You heap sand on the dead and turn your back. You do not return to it every day to check its condition in Barzakh Leave them in their Barzakh Move on, nothing hurts more than turning back! 25 |

ADHAM SHARKAWI TO THE BROKEN HEARTED As long as things do not smear my dignity or break my pride, I will hold on! As for the moment I am humiliated, I let go in such a manner that there is no holding back after that. It has never happened that anything fell from me and I bent down to pick it up: especially, since my dignity has always been greater than my heart; and this is one of the qualities I admire most about myself. www.dakwahbookstore.com ISBN 978-629-7545-21-9 DAKWAH CORNER 9 786297 545219 BOOKSTORE
