Description of Book

The Life of Prophet Muhammad صلی الله علیه وآله وسلم (Highlights and Lessons)

It is very important for anyone who wants to spread the message of Islam to study the life of the Prophet صلی الله علیه وآله وسلم and discover how he undertook the mission of da‘wah, or calling to Islam. This book is a blueprint for da‘wah. From studying his biography we learn the lessons of patience and perseverance in the face of adversity and opposition, and the readiness to sacrifice everything for the cause of Islam. In this book, Dr. as-Sibâ‘ie shows us how the Prophet’s صلی الله علیه وآله وسلم approach was gentle yet determined and clear-cut, with no compromise on basic issues. The author takes the most important events of the Messenger’s صلی الله علیه وآله وسلم life, summarizes them in order to offer a brief overview, then outlines the lessons that we learn from these events. This is an excellent introduction both to the principles of da‘wah and to the seerah, the study of the life of the Prophet صلی الله علیه وآله وسلم. It should be on the bookshelf of every Muslim who wants to call others to Allah. The Life of Prophet Muhammad: Highlights and Lessons have been translated into English by Nasiruddin al-Khattab.

INTRODUCTION
THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THE siRAH
The Sirah has a number of unique features which make studying it
a source of spiritual and intellectual pleasure. Studying it is
essential for all scholars of sharrah, clä 'iyahs who call people to
Allah and those who are concerned with social reforms, to ensure
that the message of Islam be conveyed to the people in a
convincing manner, so that they know that it is the refuge to which
they should turn at times of trouble or confusion, so that the
people's hearts be opened to the dä'iyahs and the reforms
promoted by the reformers become more successful and more
sound. We Will sum up below the most important and unique
features of the Prophet's biography.
Firstly: It is the soundest account of the life ofany Prophet who
was sent, or any great reformer. The biography of the Messenger
of Allah has come to us via the soundest academic methods
and with the strongest proof— as we 41all when we examine
the sources of the Sirah — which leaves no room for doubt
concerning the major events of the Prophet's life. This makes it
easy for us to detect fabricated accounts, that were added in later
times of miracles or events, dreamt up by ignorant minds who
wanted to add more of an element ofthe extraordinary to the life
of the Messenger of Allah (23), over and beyond that which Allah
had decreed of his high status, the sanctity of his mission and the
greatness of his character.
What is unique about the soundness of the S7ruh is that it
is proven. and there cannot be any doubt about it; this is something
