In the Name Of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise and thanks are due to Allah Who revealed the Qur'an to His servant (Muhammad) as a warning to mankind and jinn. And peace and salutations be upon the one sent as a mercy to the world, the bringer of glad tidings and warnings; and upon his companions and whosoever follows them upon goodness till the Day of Recompense.
The art of translation is known to be fairly difficult and complex. The difficulty lies in the art of selecting the right words for the target language in order to accurately convey the meanings and preserve the sense of the original words that are being translated. Choosing the right word from a pool of several other words that can carry the same meaning or connotation in respective to the original word is quite an uphill task for the translator.
The translator of mundane knowledge (such as those of non-religious content) could probably enjoy much more liberties compared to translating the works of religious content. The liberty of the translator mainly involves in conveying the ideas and thoughts of the language into the target language as idiomatically and pragmatically accurate as possible. On the other hand, the translator of the Holy Qur'an works under severe limitations and also with much stricter constraints. He has to be very cautious and be very careful in choosing the words. Deviation from the actual text is highly prohibited and in case there is a need for further explanation or interpretation to facilitate the reader's comprehension, he needs to use parenthesis or include footnotes to avoid misleading interpretations. In the translation of the Holy Qur'an, idiom is not so important as the word and its meaning.

The sentences are short but concise while the language is within the reach of non-native English readers of intermediate level as the author placed his focus on the appropriate meanings and the accuracy of vocabulary.

بسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَلَمِينَ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ مَلِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ أَهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ )
JUZ 1 HIZB 1
1. Surah Al-Fatihah
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All form of praise and thanks is due to Allah Alone, the Creator of Al-Alamin (i.e. mankind, jinn and all that exists).
The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.
The Owner of the Day of Judge-
ment.
We worship You (Alone) and we seek help from You (Alone).
Guide us to the Straight Path.
The Path of those whom You honoured with Your favours. Not (the Path) of those who earned Your Anger nor of those who went astray.

10. Surah Yunus
O Allah said: "Your prayer is grant- ed. So both of you stay on the Straight Path (i.e. even though they turn a deaf car to the guidance, still preach- ing is beneficial for you). And don't follow the Path of those who don't know (that our promise is true)."
And We made the Children of Israel cross the sea, and Firaun and his army followed them to torture them with his enmity. When Firaun was drowning (and saw the angels of death), he said: "I believe that none has the right to be worshipped except in Whom the Children of Israel be- lieve, and I am one of the Muslims. (Hence, save me from drowning and punishment of the Hereafter)."
(He was answered) do you believe now while you refused to believe before and you were one of the evil-doers?
JUZ 11 HIZB 22 10. Surah Yunus
And Firaun said: "Bring to me every skillful magician."
So when the magicians came, Musa () said to them: "Throw what you are going to throw (on the ground)."

قال قَدْ أُحِيبَت دَعْوَتُكُمَا فَأَسْتَقِيمَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعَانِ سَبِيلَ ارين لايَعْلَمُونَ * وَجَوَزْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَ يلَ الْبَحْرَ فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ ن وَجُنُودُهُ بَعْيَا وَعَدَ وَا حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَدْرَكَهُ الْغَرَقُ قالَ آمَنتُ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الَّذِى ءَامَنَتْ بِهِ بَنُوا إِسْرَاهِيلَ وَأَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْفَنَ وَقَدْ عَصَيْتَ قَبْلُ وَكُنتَ مِنَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ فَالْيَوْمَ نُنَجِّيكَ بِبَدَنِكَ لِتَكُونَ لِمَنْ عَلْقَكَ وَايَةً وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنَ النَّاسِ عَنْ ءَايَتِنَا لَغَفِلُونَ ) وَلَقَدْ بَوَأْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَ يلَ مُبَوَأَ صِدْقِ وَرَزَقْنَهُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوا حَتَّى جَاءَ هُمُ الْعِلْمُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِي نهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيِّمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ فَإِن كُنتَ فِي شَةٍ مِمَّا أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ فَسْتَلِ الَّذِينَ يَقْرَءُونَ الْكِتَبَ مِن تباك لَقَدْ جَاءَ كَ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ ) وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِمَا يَتِ اللَّهِ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ الْخَسِرِينَ ) إِنَّ الَّذِينَ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ) وَلَوْ جَاءَ تَهُمْ كُلُّ ءَايَةٍ حَتَّى يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ
So today We will save your (dead) body (from going down to the bottom of the sea) so that it may become a reminder for those who come after you. And, indeed, most of the people are careless about Our signs.
And, indeed, We gave the Children of Israel a respectable place to live and provided them good things. Then they differed among themselves after knowledge had come to them Indeed, your Creator will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection in which they used to differ.
[O Muhammad()!] So if you are in doubt concerning what We have sent down to you then ask those who read the Book (sent) before you. Indeed, the truth has come to you from
Your Creator. Hence, don't be from those who doubt it.
And don't be from those who deny the revelations of Allah, for then you shall be one
of the losers.
Indeed, those against whom the Word (Wrath) of your Creator has been justified, will
not believe,
Even if they see every sign (of Allah), until they see the painful torment. (Also Surah
Al-Mumin/Ghafir:85)
Then when they threw, Musa ()said to them: "What you have brought is magic. Indeed, Allah is going to destroy it. Indeed, Allah does not let the affairs of the evil- doers be accomplished".
"And Allah proves the truth by His Command, however much the criminals may hate it."
[After the miracle of Musa (a)] so none believed in Musa (a) except a few young men due to fear of Firaun and his chiefs lest he
torture them. And, indeed, Firaun
الحرة الحادي عشر
وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ أَنْتُونِي بِكُلِّ سَجِرٍ عَلِيمٍ وَلَتَا جَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ قَالَ لَهُم مُوسَى الْقُوا مَا أَنتُم مُلْقُونَ فَلَمَّا الْقَوْا قَالَ مُوسَى مَا جِسْتُم بِهِ البَحْرُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَيُبْطِلُهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُصْلِحُ
خَوْفِ من
نَ وَيُحِقُ اللَّهُ الحَقَّ بِكَلِمَتِهِ، وَلَوْ كَرِهَ تاءَ آمَنَ لِمُوسَى إِلَّا ذُرِّيَّةٌ مِن قَوْمِهِ عَلَى فِرْعَوْنَ لَعَالِ
مُوسَى يَقَوْمِ إن ن كُنتُم مُّسْلِمِينَ ) افِتْنَةَ لِلْقَوْمِ الظَّلِمِينَ ) الْكَفِرِينَ وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى مُوسَى رَبُونَا وَاجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُم
لْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَقَالَ مُوسَى وَمَلَاهُ زِينَةَ وَأَمْوَلَا فِي الْحَيَوة
مَن سَبِيلِكَ رَبَّنَا أَطْمِسْ عَلَى أَمْوَالِهِمْ الدُّنْيَا رَبَّنَا ليض وَاشْدُدْ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ
was a tyrant on the earth, and he is, indeed, one of the transgressors.
And [when Musa (a) noticed their fear] he said: "O my people! If you have believed in Allah, then put your trust in Him, if you are Muslims."
So they said: "We put our trust in Allah, our Creator." (And added:) "O our Creator! Don't make us a trial for the people who are wrong-doers.
"And save us by Your Mercy from the disbelieving people."
We revealed to Musa (s) and his brother (saying:) "Establish dwellings for your people in (Allah accepted this supplication and provided help for these young Muslims). And Egypt, and make your dwellings as places of your worship (visitation to Masjid for Salat is excused). And perform Salat (with the blessings of Salat Allah will remove the hardships). [0 Musa ()!] And give glad tidings to the believers. (The hardships will be removed
soon)."
And Musa (sa) said: "Our Creator! You have, indeed, given Firaun and his chief's the splendour and wealth in this worldly life, Our Creator, that they may lead men astray from Your Path. Our Creator! Destroy their wealth, and harden their hearts so that they may not believe until they see the painful torment." (Also Surah Nuh:29)

22. Surah Al-Hajj
Allah Alone will be Sovereign on that Day. He will judge between them. Hence, those who believed and did good deeds will be in the Gardens of delight (Paradise). (Also Surah Ghafir:16).
And those who disbelieved and denied Our revelations, so for them will be a disgraceful torment.
Those who emigrated in the Cause of Allah and were killed (fighting against the disbelievers) or died (a natural death), Allah will provide for them good provision (in Paradise). And, indeed, Allah is the Best Provider.
Allah will take them to a place with which they shall be highly pleased. Indeed, Allah is All-Know- ing, Most Forbearing.
الهزة التابع عشر
الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَبِذلِلَّهِ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّلِحَتِ فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِنَايَتِنَا فَأُولَبِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مهِينُ وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قُتِلُوا أَوْ مَانُوا لَيَرْزُقَنَّهُمُ اللَّهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّزِقِينَ لَيُدْخِلَنَّهُم مُّدْخَلَا يَرْضَوْنَةُ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٌ ، ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ عَاقَبَ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبَ بِهِ ثُمَّ بُفِى عَلَيْهِ لَيَنصُرَنَّهُ اللهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَفُو غَفُورُ ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يُولِجُ الَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي الَّيْلِ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرُ ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ، هُوَ الْبَاطِلُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَتُصْبِحُ الْأَرْضُ مُخْضَرَةً إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَطِيفُ خَبِيرٌ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ الْغَنُ الْحَمِيدُ
It (the above promise for the emigrants) is true. If someone harms an enemy by way of retaliation equal to that which he was made to suffer, and then if he is wronged again (by the enemy), Allah will surely help him. Indeed, Allah is Very Pardoning, Very Forgiving.
(Allah is very Powerful) that is because Allah merges the night into the day and He merges the day into the night. And, indeed, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Seer.
That is also because Allah is the Truth and what they worship besides Allah is falsehood. And, indeed, Allah is the Most High, the Most Great.
Don't you see that Allah sends down rainwater from the sky which makes the earth green? Indeed, Allah is Extremely Kind and is Well-Acquainted (with all things).
All that is in the heavens and on the earth belongs to Him. And, indeed, Allah is All-Rich (free of all needs), Worthy of all praise. of balloner bodi bat of toode s vodi tadi aaogga syails

JUZ 17 HIZB 34 22. Surah Al-Hajj
[O Muhammad ()!] They ask you to hasten the occurrence of torment. Allah will not break His promise. And, indeed, one day with your Creator is like a thousand years
according to your counting.
And I delayed punishment of many cruel communities and then finally seized them (with torment). (None can escape the punishment) and they all have to return to Me. (Then full punishment will be served).
[0 Muhammad ()!] Say: "O mankind! I am only a simple send warner." (Only Allah can torment at the appointed time).
Hence, those who believe and do good deeds there is forgiveness and generous provision (i.e. Paradise) for them.
Hell.
الحرة التابع عشر
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ وَلَن يُخْلِفَ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَإِنَّ يَوْمًا عِندَ رَبِّكَ كَالْفِ سَنَةٍ مَمَّا تَعُدُّونَ وَكَأَيْن مِن قَرْيَةٍ
أَمْلَيْتُ لَهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهَا وَإِلَى الْمَصِيرُ | قل يأيها النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا أَنَا لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ فَالَّذِينَ امَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ وَالَّذِينَ سَعَوْا فِي ابْتِنَا مُعَجِزِينَ أُوْلَبِكَ أَصْحَبُ سَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ وَلَا نَبِي إِلَّا
إِذَا تَمَى أَلْقَى الشَّيْطَانُ فِي أَمْنِيَّتِهِ ، فَيَنسَحُ اللَّهُ مَا يُلْقِى الشَّيْطَنُ تريحكمُ اللَّهُ ايَتِهِ، وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيرٌ لِيَجْعَلَ مَا يُلْقِي الشَّيْطَنُ فِتْنَةَ لِلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِنَّ الظَّلِمِينَ لَفِي شِقَاقٍ بَعِيدٍ وَلِيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَيُؤْمِنُوا بِهِ ، فَتُخْبِتَ لَهُ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهَادِ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا إِلَى صِرَاطِ مُسْتَقِيمٍ وَلَا يَزَالُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِنْهُ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَقِيرٍ
And those who strive against Our signs to defeat (their purpose) will be the people of

[O Muhammad ()! They debate with you regarding the whispering of Satan. It is nothing new.] And whenever We sent a messenger or a Prophet before you and when he desired something, Satan mixed something in what he desired. So Allah erases the doubts casted by Satan and further strengthens (the subject matter) of His Revelations. And Allah is All-Knower of (their objections) and Allah is All-Wise (to answer them).
(This is because) Allah makes doubts casted by Satan a trial for those people whose hearts have disease (of hypocrisy and disbelief) and their hearts are hardened. And, indeed, (the wrong-doers are in deep opposition (of the truth)
(This is also so that) those who have been given correct knowledge may know that (the message which has been recited) is the truth from their Creator, so that they may believe in it and their hearts may lean to it with humility. And, indeed, Allah does guide those who
believe, to a Straight Path.
And the disbelievers will not cease to be in doubt about Allah's revelation, until the Hour (of Judgement) comes suddenly upon them or the torment of the unblessed Day (i.e.
Day of Judgement) comes (for the disbelievers).

13. It proves that earth was created before heavens. Allah says in Surah Naziat verse 30
After that earth .. والأرض بَعْدَ ذلِك دَحَنُها (٣٠)
was spread. Note that creation is different from spreading. Earth was created first, then heavens and then earth was spread and levelled up (Fateh al-Qadeer). Also note the word "" Nothing is created useless in the earth. Everything is useful for us in some way which we may not know. It, however, does not mean that use of everything in everyway is Halal or permissible.

19. Fear is before occurrence of something and grief is (the condition of heart) after

20. Israel is one of the names of Yaqub () Bani Israel means Children of Yaqub (a)
Israel also means Abdullah.
Explanatory Notes
1. (1) Prophet Muhammad() said:
The الذكر لا إله إلا الله ، وَأَفْضَلُ الدُّعَاءِ الْحَمْدُ لله لا إله إلا الله is أضل الذكر)) best reminder is (أفضل الدعاء) and the best supplication
(Tirmidhi-3383, Ibn-Majah-3800). (ii) Prophet Muhammad () said: "Allah loves those believers who thank Him after meals." (Muslim). (iii) Prophet
.ie الحمد لله تملأ الميزان .Muhammad () said ".completely fills up the balance الحمد لله
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا حَزَبَهُ) 21
14. Angels asked this not by way of an ) Whenever Prophet Muhammad () had a big task to be accomplished, he
objection or jealousy but to learn about the
wisdom. Allah's wisdom was that in spite performed additional Salat. (Ahmed-23299
of some mischievous persons, there will be Prophets, martyrs and other righteous people. (Tafseer Ibn-Kathir)
15. How did the angels come to know about it? The angels observed this in Allah's other creatures, created before mankind. Some scholars say that Allah informed them. (Fateh al-Qadeer)
16. Allah not only honoured Adam (s) by (i) knowledge (ii) respect through prostration to him (iii) abode in Paradise (iv) enjoyment of staying in Paradise by eating, drinking etc. From the children of Adam (), Allah honoured Prophet Muhammad(), in six unique ways: (i) He is the Prophet of the whole universe (ii) His Prophethood will last till the Day of Judgement (iii) His guidance will be preserved till the Day of Judgement (iv) All his followers will never go astray (v) He will be the Caliph of Allah till the Day of
Judgement (vi) He will intercede or request
Allah for the forgiveness of others on the Day of Judgement.

22. There was a rich man without an issue among the Children of Israel. His nephew was supposed to inherit his uncle's wealth. This nephew killed his uncle during the night and threw his body near the door of another person. In the morning people started blaming each other for his death. Finally Musa (a) came to know about it. Musa (a) ordered to slaughter a cow. When they touched the dead body with a piece of this slaughtered cow, the dead became alive momentarily and informed the people about the murderer. Soon after this he died again. (Fateh al-Qadeer).
23. There is a great eloquence of the Quran in describing three kinds of stones step by step and showing how hard are the hearts of the Jews. Hence, they are a hopeless case.

in many ways. (i) Satan could not touch Isa (a) at his birth (ii) By breathing of Jibrael (), Maryam became pregnant (iii) Since Imost of the Jews were against Isa (a).
17. Prophets don't make any mistakes hence Jibrael () stayed with Isa (s) to protect him from the Jews. (iv) To raise Isa
intentionally. Any mistake committed is due to misunderstanding or forgetfulness, etc.

6. When Prophet Muhammad () came to Madinah, some people embraced Islam, but some of them fell into hypocrisy. They were initially in darkness of disbelief. By embracing Islam, they found light to distinguish between good and bad. Then they turned to hypocrisy, and lost all the light they had and were left in darkness again. (Fateh al-Qadeer)
7. This is the example of another group of hypocrites. Their hearts are like rainstrom which has darkness thunder and lightning in it. When thunderbolt frightens them, they thrust their fingers in their ears to safeguard against it. But their protective measures cannot save them from Allah's punishment. When an adversity comes to the believers, these hyprocrites fall back into their doubtfulness and hypocrisy. They never
(become sincere believers. (Ibn-Kathir بُيُوتَكُمْ مَقَابِرَ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَنْفِرُ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ الَّذِي تَقْرَأ
ما لا عين رأت ولا أذن provisions of Paradise Neye has seen سمعت ولا خطر على قلب بشر
Do not turn your house فِيْهِ سُوْرَةُ الْبَقَرَة
graveyards, verily Satan does not enter the house in which Surah-Al-Baqarah is

Reason of Revelation (Al-Baqarah, 2: 1-19)
It is reported by Mujahid who said, "Four verses from the beginning of this surah were revealed about the believers, and two verses after these four were revealed about the disbelievers, and thirteen verses after these last two were revealed about the hypocrites." (Al-Wahidi, Reasons of Revelation)
4. Lying is not a minor sin. It is a major sin and it transforms a person from a believer to a hypocrite.

(Bukhari-3244, Muslim-2850)
11. Here Allah informed us that a tiny parasite is sitting on top of each mosquito. We discovered it recently.

Reason of Revelation
(Al-Maarij, 70: 1)
As-Suddi reported that, "This verse was revealed about Al-Nadr ibn Al-Harith when he said [as reported in the Quran) (O Allah! If this be indeed the truth from Thee, then rain down stones on us or bring on us some painful doom!) [8:32], and so he prayed against himself and asked for chastisement. He got what he asked for at the Battle of Badr when he was killed in captivity." (Al-Wahidi, Reasons of Revelation and As-Suyuti in Lubab)
(Al-Muddaththir, 74: 111
The Great commentator, Mujahid, said, "Al-Walid ibn Al-Mughirah was in the habit of visiting the Prophet (E) and Abu Bakr so much so that the Quraysh thought he was going to embrace Islam. Abu Jahl then said to him, 'The Quraysh claim that you visit Muhammad and Ibn Abi Quhafah to share food with them'. Al-Walid said to the Quraysh, 'You are people of noble lineages and sound minds, but you claim that Muhammad is mad. Have you ever seen him seized by a bout of madness?" They said, "No!" He said, And you claim that he is a soothsayer; have you ever seen him soothsaying?" They said, "No!" He said, 'You claim that he is a poet; have you ever heard him utter poetry? They said, 'No!' He said, "You claim that he is a liar; have you ever caught him lying?" They said, "No!" The Quraysh said to Al-Walid, "What is he, then?" He thought for a while, looked and frowned and then said, 'He is nothing but a sorcerer', hence Allah's saying (And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]")." (Al-Wahidi, Reasons of Revelation)
225. Jinn were stopped overhearing conver- sation of angels in the heaven. Hence, they sent many groups in various directions to find the reason of this restriction imposed on them. One group listened to this recita- tion of the Quran of Prophet Muhammad () in Fajr Salat in Nakhla Valley near Mak- kah and they were so much inspired that they concluded that the coming of Prophet Muhammad () was the reason for this re- striction. They readily believed in Prophet Muhammad () and informed their com- munity about it. Prophet Muhammad() was not aware of the presence of the jinn during this Salat. He () was informed later by this Verse of the Quran. (Muslim 449)
Reason of Revelation
(Al-Qiyamah, 75: 3)
This verse was revealed about 'Adiyy ibn Rabi'ah. He went to the Prophet () and said, "Tell me about the Day of Arising, when is it going to be? How is it going to be?" The Prophet (8) answered his questions. Then 'Adiyy said, "If I were to see that Day with my own eyes, I would not accept what you say, O Muhammad, as true nor would I believe in you. Can Allah really assemble these bones?" And so Allah (exalted is He) revealed this verse. (Al-Wahidi, Reasons of Revelation)
226. In this Verse Allah has informed us long time ago that the hearing of a child is developed first and then the eyesight. Modern embryology has discovered this fact only recently. In fact the embryo can hear sound after 24th week and retina of eye becomes sensitive to light after 28th week. Also see Verses 23:78, 32:9 and 67:23.
227.Geologists have recently discovered that the mountains are more inside the earth than outside (like a peg) to stabilise the earth. Allah informed us about it centuries ago. Also see 21:31, 31:10, 77:27 and 79:32.
Reason of Revelation
(At-Taghabun, 64: 14)
Ibn 'Abbas reported, "Some men used to embrace Islam but, upon trying to migrate, were prevented from doing so by their families and children. The latter would plead with them, saying, 'We plead with you, by Allah, not to leave your family and clan and depart to Madinah where you have no family or wealth'. Some of these men took pity on their family and children and stayed back, thus failing to migrate, and so Allah (exalted is He) revealed this verse." (Al-Wahidi, Reasons of Revelation and As-Suyuti in Lubab)
(At-Talaq, 65: 3)
Ibn Abbas said, "This verse was revealed about 'Awf ibn Malik al-Ash- ja'i whose son was imprisoned by the idolaters. He went to the Messenger of Allah () and complained to him about his poverty, saying, 'The enemy has imprisoned my son and his mother is very distressed, what do you advise me to do?' The Prophet () said to him, 'Be fearful of Allah and be patient. I also command you and your wife to of- ten repeat 'there is no strength or might except by Allah'. So he went home and said to his wife, 'The Messenger of Allah () commanded both of us to of- ten repeat 'there is no strength or might except by Allah'. She said, 'How good is that with which he has commanded us!" And they both started saying it straight- away. It happened that the enemy be- came distracted from their son and the latter led their sheeps away and fled. He brought these sheeps to his father; they were four thousand heads. This verse was revealed about this incident." (Al-Wahidi, Reasons of Revelation and As-Suyuti in Lubab)
221.Allah has created seven earths one over the other like the seven skies (Qurtubi). It is verified by Hadith: Prophet Muhammad ()said: "Whoever took illegal possession of even a tiny bit of other's land, he will have an equivalent piece of land from seven earths as a collar around his neck on the Day of Judgement." (Muslim). In Bukhari's
... خسف بِهِ إِلى سَبْعَ أَرَضِينَ :wording it says
He will be thrust into the earth up to the seventh earth.
222. Here believers are reminded to reform themselves and their families by acquiring Islamic education to save them and their families from the Hell-Fire.
Reason of Revelation (Al-Mulk, 67: 13)
Ibn 'Abbas reported, "This was revealed about the idolaters who used to slander the Messenger of Allah (). Jibril (sa) informed him about what they said about him and the things with which they slandered him. Some of them used to say to others, 'Lower your voices. lest Muhammad's Allah hears you." (Al-Wahidi, Reasons of Revelation)
223. Here Allah also informed that the hearing is developed first and then the eyesight in an embryo, which we discovered recently.
224. If you don't have the power to do this, how can you have the power to remove the torment of Hell-Fire from yourself?
Reason of Revelation
