Dear sisters, this story which you are going to read is of a young educated Palestinian girl who belonged to a modern family which had no idea or understanding of the hijab or the veil. Palestine is the land of the Prophets which is currently being occupied by the Israelis. It once was a peaceful land. The rulers were Palestinians but now Israeli soldiers perpetrate atrocities on helpless Palestinians, permanently subjecting them to torture and oppression. Throughout the day the Palestinians are stopped at many places and are made to stand in long queues for frisking at check points. They are deliberately delayed from reaching their destinations. Their time is wasted. Women are humiliated. Ridiculing veiled women is particularly a favourite pastime of many soldiers in the Israeli army. They are forced to remove their veils, but despite such oppression there is no shortage of Palestinian girls who compulsorily wear the veil and brave all the hardships for doing so. This story is also of a young girl who began to wear the veil after being guided by Allah. This is a beautiful story of her determination. This is a ray of light containing many lessons. Let us listen to it directly from her.
