152 Facets of Muslimah's Journey Benefits from the narration Among the characteristics of a good wife are: Keeping the secret of the husband. The wife should be content with her husband's provision. The wife should respectfully honour visitors and describe them in a responsible manner. The Best Home on the Surface of the Earth Bint Sa'id al Musayyib When the husband of the daughter of Sa'id ibn Musayyib wanted to go out, she held his cloth and asked him, "Where are you going?" He said, "I am going to the sitting of Sa'id to learn." She said, "Sit, so I can teach you the knowledge of Sa'id."254 P rophet Muhammad was a successful leader in every way; he was able to meet the needs of his wives fairly despite his many obligations. He infused his family with true affection and knowledge255 to the point where it became a model for Muslims. Allah says: Benefits from the narration A wife can teach her husband, although it is appropriate for him to be more knowledgeable than her. A woman should marry a lover and seeker of knowledge in order to facilitate revision and continuous learning. 254 'Inayah An Nisa bil Hadith An Nabawi p. 121 There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.
