One common issue in our society is that conversations with the opposite gender have been normalized. But be careful of this for it can ruin your haya.
Your haya is something that needs to be protected because it is connected to your iman and vice versa.
A hadith stated by the Prophet describes this matter:
“Verily, modesty and faith come together.
If one of the two is missing, so is the other.”

The fewer that know you and your business,
the better it is for you and your reputation.
But if you find yourself in situations
where you can't control what others say
then do not let it affect you.
Because the more they talk cruelly about you,
the better it is for you on the Day of Judgement.
