DECEPTION
Abu Hurayrah () narrated:
«The Messenger of Allah () passed by a pile of food (grain). He put his fingers in it and felt wetness. He asked: O owner of the food! What is this?
The man replied: It was rained upon, O Messenger of Allah (3). The Prophet () responded: Why not put it on the top of the food so people can see it?
Then he added: Whoever cheats is not one of us.>> (Muslim)
The sinful nature involved in this transaction comes from the seller knowing of a defect in the merchandise but not informing the cus- tomer. The customer might not buy the goods if the defects are made apparent, or the defect might lower the value of the goods. This de- ceit contradicts true Muslim behaviour, for the Messenger of Allah

UNLAWFUL INCOME
It has been narrated by Abu Hurayrah (4) that the Messenger
:said (صلى الله عليه وسلم) of Allah
«O people! Verily Allah is pure, and He only accepts what is pure. Allah commands the believers with that with which He commanded the Messengers, and He says:
O messengers, eat from the good foods and do righteous deeds... (Qur'an 23: 51)
Allah (3) has also mentioned:
