Purify the Heart, Perfect the Worship
Rituals of a Worshipping Heart by Dr. Muhammad Musa Ash-Shareef is a profound guide to the spiritual dimensions of Islam, focusing on the heart as the foundation of faith, worship, and righteous character. Drawing upon the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the teachings of the righteous predecessors (Salaf), the book explains how sincere worship begins with a purified heart.
Understanding the Heart in Islam
The book begins by exploring the Islamic concept of the Qalb (heart), explaining its meaning, purpose, and role in perception, understanding, and spiritual awareness. It highlights why the heart is considered the centre of a believer's intentions, actions, and relationship with Allah.
Acts of Worship of the Heart
The author examines the essential acts of worship performed by the heart, including trust in Allah (Tawakkul), fear of Allah (Khawf), and hope in Allah (Rajaa). These inner acts are presented as the driving force behind sincere worship and steadfast faith.
Building Noble Character
Beyond spiritual devotion, the book discusses beautiful Islamic qualities such as truthfulness (Sidq), patience (Sabr), and humility (Tawadu'). It demonstrates how a purified heart naturally produces excellent manners and strengthens one's relationship with both Allah and His creation.
Rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah
Throughout the book, Dr. Ash-Shareef supports every discussion with evidence from the Qur'an, authentic Prophetic traditions, and the sayings of the Salaf, offering readers a practical and authentic approach to spiritual purification and self-improvement.
