أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَأُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ
Al-An'am
138. Has there not come to you the story
قَبْلِكُمْ مِنْ نُوحٌ وَعَادٍ - of those before you
.
وَثُمُوْدَ وَالَّذِينَ مِنْ أَصْحَبٍ
إِبْرَهِيمَ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ
كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ جَاءَهَا رَسُولُهَا
the People of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud, and the people of Abraham (and the companions)?
139. Even So. To every nation
there
was a messenger
their messenger came,
فَكَذَّبُوا فَأَعْقَبْنَا بَيْنَهُمُ appointed). And when)
وَأَنْعَامًا كَثِيرَةً يَسْتَفِدُونَ Produced in abun .36
dance in this world for
مِنْهَا وَمِنْ ثُمَرَاتِهَا كُلُوا - you are the cattle. And
there is a share for you
مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُوا الْبَاس ,in what they are fed
and in their fruits. Eat. from them and pay the
الْفَقِيْرَ وَأَتِمُواْ الْكَنْيَلَ وَالْمِيزَانَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا alms due on them. And
تُكَلِّفُوا نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا (poverty, then (also
وَإِذَا قُلْتُمْ فَاعْدِلُوا وَلَو ,the relative, the orphan
when there is fear of
feed, with its due right,
and the needy, and say kind words to every one who asks.
كَانَ ذَا قُرْبِي، وَبِعَهْدِ الْحُكُمْ بِالْقِسْطِ وَهُمْ لَا they used to judge
يُظْلَمُونَ )
ثُمَّ خَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ
خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَحَ
(according to) justice among themselves; and they used not to wrong (one another).
140. Then after that their
wrought
successors
in the land. It is those who are the
lost.
وَأَتْبَعُوا الشَّهَوَتِ فَسَوْفَ corruption
يَلْقَوْنَ الْغَني
اللهِ أَوْفُوا ذَلِكُمْ وَضَكُمْ بِهِ. لَعَلَكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ )
137. Even so, We revealed it unto you, (zayran) that
might think of the
وَكَذَلِكَ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ you
لِتَتَفَكَّرُوا فِي آيَتِ الله signs of Allah, and
that you might be
thankful.
وَلَعَلَكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ )
