Its names - its habitats - its description -
its morphological and chemical properties - its cultivation
Black Cumin is known by many names; it is called in the Persian language "Shuniz"(1), and is also called Baraka seed, Black Caraway, Indian Caraway, and Bashma. King al-Muzaffar Yusuf ibn Umar al-Turkumani mentioned it in his book "Al-Mu'tamad fi al-Adwiyah al-Mufradah" under the names Tashmizaj, Jamashk, and Bashma, and said: "It is known in the language of Yemen as 'Tashmah'..." And the ancient Egyptians knew it by the name...
(1) Ibn Hajar said in "Fath al-Bari Sharh Sahih al-Bukhari" (Vol. 1, p. 145), while interpreting the Hadith of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "In the Black Cumin is a cure for every disease except As-Sam." Ibn Shihab said: As-Sam is death, and the Black Cumin is Shuniz. Ibn Hajar said: "Shuniz with a damma on the Sheen, a sukun on the Waw, a kasra on the Noon, and a sukun on the Ya, followed by a Zay." Al-Qurtubi said: Some of our scholars marked the Sheen with a fatha, and Iyad narrated from Ibn al-Arabi that he gave it a kasra and replaced the Waw with a Ya, saying Shiniz. Interpreting Black Cumin as Shuniz was the most common term for them at that time, but now the matter is the opposite; Black Cumin is much more famous to the people of this era than Shuniz, and interpreting it as Shuniz is the most frequent and famous, and it is the Black Caraway; it is also called Indian Caraway. Ibrahim al-Harbi narrated in "Gharib al-Hadith" from Hasan al-Basri that it is mustard, and Abu Ubaid al-Harawi narrated in "Al-Gharibayn" that it is the fruit of the terebinth (butm), and the name of its tree is "al-farw". Al-Jawhari said: It is the gum of a tree called "kamkam" brought from Yemen, and its scent is pleasant, and it is used in incense... Al-Qurtubi said: Interpreting it as Shuniz is more appropriate for two reasons: First, it is the opinion of the majority, and second, its many benefits, unlike mustard and terebinth.

Respiratory Diseases
Cough
Area
Cough is one of the diseases of the respiratory system. The infection may be in the trachea, and this can be easily managed. However, if the infection is in the alveoli, that is where the difficulty of treatment lies. Cough treatment is divided into two parts:
1 - A drink to be consumed, like hot tea, twice daily.
First: after breakfast.
Second: just before sunset.
2 - Vapor to be inhaled, which is the vapor of Black Cumin, inhaled for fifteen minutes twice daily.
First: at noon.
Second: before sleep.
The vapor has another benefit, which is the cure for cold coryza (common cold) and easing breathing. To prepare the cough treatment formula, we need the following:
1 - A teaspoon of ground Black Cumin. 2 - A teaspoon of licorice. 3 - Half a teaspoon of anise. 4 - A teaspoon of ground chamomile.
5 - A cup of boiling water.
