"It is a religiously established principle, supported by clear textual evidence from the Qur'an and Sunnah, that the specific interests taken by the owners of wealth in exchange for their participation or deposits in usurious banks are forbidden and considered a form of usury, which Allah and His Messenger have prohibited. It is one of the major sins having the effect of eradicating blessings, causing the wrath of Allah, and causing deeds to be unaccepted."
