QADI 'IYAD IBN MUSA AL- YAHSUBI
Qadi 'Iyad ibn Musa al-Yahsubi (1083–1149 CE / 476–544 AH) was a renowned Maliki jurist, Hadith scholar, judge, and historian from Ceuta (present-day Morocco). He is best known for his celebrated work Ash-Shifa bi Ta'rif Huquq al-Mustafa (Ash-Shifa), one of the most influential books on the virtues, characteristics, and rights of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Qadi 'Iyad served as a chief judge and became one of the most respected scholars of the western Islamic world. His works continue to be studied globally for their scholarship, devotion to the Prophet ﷺ, and contributions to Islamic jurisprudence and Hadith studies.
