Ibn Kathir (1301–1373 CE) was one of the most respected Islamic scholars, historians, and exegetes of the Qur’an. His famous work Tafsir Ibn Kathir is considered among the most authentic and widely studied Qur’anic commentaries. His methodology relies on explaining the Qur’an through the Qur’an itself, authentic Hadith, and the understanding of the early Muslim generations.
