Marmaduke Pickthall

Marmaduke Pickthall (1875–1936) was a British writer, scholar, and one of the earliest English translators of the Qur’an. After embracing Islam, he dedicated himself to presenting Islamic teachings to the English-speaking world.

He is best known for his translation The Meaning of the Glorious Qur’an, which is admired for its faithful and dignified English style that reflects the beauty of the original Arabic text. His work remains widely respected and continues to be used by readers seeking a reliable and classical English rendering of the Qur’an.
