Kristiane Backer is a German former MTV Europe presenter, journalist, author, and public speaker best known for her memoir From MTV to Mecca: How Islam Inspired My Life. After a successful career in European music television during the 1990s, she embraced Islam in 1995 following her travels through the Muslim world and her study of Islamic teachings.
