Dr. V. Abdur-Raheem (1933–2023) was a world-renowned Arabic linguist, educator, and Islamic scholar best known for developing the Madinah Arabic Course (Durus al-Lughah al-Arabiyyah), one of the most widely used Arabic-language programs for non-native speakers. He served for over 30 years as a professor at the Islamic University of Madinah and later directed the Translation Centre at the King Fahd Qur'an Printing Complex. His teaching methodology revolutionized Arabic learning for students worldwide and continues to be used in Islamic institutes, universities, and self-study programs.
