Abu al-Walid al-Baji (403–474 AH / 1013–1081 CE) was a distinguished Andalusian Islamic scholar, jurist, and theologian of the Maliki school of jurisprudence. Born in Badajoz (Al-Andalus), he became one of the most respected scholars of his time, known for his depth in fiqh, hadith, legal theory (usul al-fiqh), and theological discourse.
