He dedicated much of his life to indexing and organizing prophetic traditions and Qur’anic vocabulary — producing seminal works such as Al-Lu’lu wa-al-Marjān (a compilation of hadiths agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim) and his widely used concordance Al-Muʿjam al-Mufahras li-Alfāẓ al-Qur’ān.
