ATTENDING HIS KHUTBAH
Surah Qaf directly from the mouth of the Prophet simply by attending his Friday sermons." This is because he used to recite and explain this surah every single week. The reason why this chapter was given so much attention in particular is because it discusses life and death in extensive detail.
The Companions would listen to the Prophet's sermons with their hearts open, and their minds fully tranquil. They would listen attentively to his sermons regarding life and death, and their bodies were so still that it was as if there were birds on top of their heads. This vivid description indicates how still they remained throughout the Prophet's reminder.
To make his sermons more effective, the Prophet used his hands in order to gesture, motion, and describe the topics he sought to address. His words were crisp and articulate, and to ensure his points were fully understood, he would sometimes repeat the same sentence three times. His eyes and tone of voice would neatly correspond with the topic he was talking about. For instance, if he was speaking about something pleasing which induced happiness, you would be able to detect emotions denoting cheerfulness from his tone and eyes. Conversely, if he spoke of something which induced anger or sadness, the same feelings could be detected in his eyes and tone.
