The basmalah has no linguistic meaning but for the fact that it is a reference to the state- ment: Bismillah al-Rahmani al-Rahim. Other examples include the
hawqalah and the hay 'alah".
It is the motto of the faithful as they embark on any venture, be it banal or grand. One possible understanding of the bå in bism, is that it is one of isti anah-seeking help. In other words, it is as if one is saying, " seek help from Allah over this matter and I begin in His name." Thus, before we eat, enter the mosque, or recite the Qur'an, and as we commence any noble deed, we say the basmalah to bless our efforts and bring about Allah's grace.
QUR'ANICITY
The basmalah comes up as part of Surat al-Naml in the narrative of Sulayman. On top of that, polymaths and multi-disciplinarians drew upon various fields of knowledge as opposed to just one or two. For example, the science of the qird är is one that has some bearing on this matter, since some quid recite the basmalah between each surah others do so as an option, and others omit it altogether except when they initiate their recitation from the beginning of a surah
Page:03
Part of Fate
PROPHET
CUSTOM
Medicine: the mystery of life and death
MIRACLE
"I create for you out of clay the shape of bird, then I breathe into it so it beers bird by Allah's leave and I heal the born-blind and the leper, and I revive de dead by Allah's leave
Q3:49
PartTo
much of it.
